How many times do you find yourself asking this very question?

What if my business could have the same exact exposure as one of my direct competitors?

And the answer is… going online. Today, many conventional business owners have settled with selling their products through different online platforms including the massively populated Facebook and Instagram. And only a few handfuls of these “brick and mortar” stores have actually realized that there are other means to give your business much more exposure than simply settling for social media.

One of these interesting ways to give online exposure to your business is “Google My Business.”

What is Google My Business?

For those of you who aren’t aware of the term, Google My Business is a free tool which allows organizations to establish a thriving online presence all across the search engine giant, Google.

It publishes your business in the Search Results, makes it available to people on Google Map, and list it various places powered by Google. To some, it’s a form of verification where Google recognizes your business information and legitimates the presence on the Internet so you can expand the customer base.

And why exactly is it important that your Business is a part of this…

Well here’s all the reasons.

Google My Business will enable you to,

Where Will my Business Appear if Listed in GMB?

The best example I can come up with at the moment is the one that relates to you. Look around you and find a business that you’re quite well-versed with. Now, search that business in your Google Search. For instance, I would choose Star Bucks as it is a very commonly known coffee shop that is present worldwide. Let’s see what do we get once I search the option in my Google Web Search.

As you can see on the right side are all the possible URLs which are associated with your searched keyword. But on the left, there’s a small widget highlighting basic information about your business, customer reviews, operation information, etc. Even though most of this information is easily accessible at the Starbucks New York website, GMB helps index all that information and places it in its search option. It’s because people would rather choose Google to Search then visit a website.

Listing your business on GMB is absolutely FREE. You can use this tool to reach new customers.

How Exactly Does Google My Business Work?

Let me use an example to educate you on how it all works…

Imagine you’re a car wash business located in the Southside Downtown. Now, everybody who is located in the Southside of Downtown might need a car wash. And those who are recently shifted or are unaware would more likely search up something like “Car wash Southside Downtown” in their Google Search. When your business is registered with Google My Business, Google will automatically show your business appear in the results provided by Google and based on ratings bring it above.

Also, when Google has access to a person’s search location, it will automatically send local results to the person where Google will identify any generated search query being searched as a local intent, for example, things as simple as “car wash” or a “hair salon” or “carpentry shop” or “coffee spot.” So instead of searching an entire keyword like “coffee spot in Southside Downtown”, you can only search “coffee shop” and Google will automatically show nearby coffee shops in the area registered to GMB.

Based on their searches, Google will show the person Google Map Results and Google Pack Results.

The Benefits of Registering Your Brand on Google My Business

Do you wonder how exactly does Google My Business help your business grow exponentially?

Here are some ways how it does help the business grow.

1) It Helps Your Brand Become Trustworthy

When your brand starts appearing in Google search, it indicates that Google has recognized you as a trustworthy brand and have endorsed you. Audiences put their faith in Google and if they see that Google has found you a trustworthy business, then they don’t have any problems in putting their trust in you. Eventually, you will see your brand exponentially grow and turn very profitable for everyone.

2) You Get a Chance to Have an Increased Sale

Google’s algorithm is sophistically designed to use your business listings and other real-time information to display your brand in front of audiences who are searching for the services which you offer. For example, if a person searches “car wash near me” and is located someplace nearby, Google will use localization to identify where you’re located and then make your business appear in the SERP.

3) Create More Engagement with Customers

According to a renowned digital marketing agency, Google My Business holds significant potential for audience engagement. Many brands find it a great way to promote and announce various news and features to help the audience understand their brand better. With the right call to actions and a great marketing gimmick, brands usually make a fortune by leveraging the power of Google My Business.

So have you registered yourself on Google My Business yet? If you haven’t considered registering, now might just be the time. You can’t afford to miss this opportunity when your competitors are making the best of it! More than 70% of businesses are leveraging the power of GMB? Become one of them.
